About the Collection
Trinity Digital
Collections
Several online collections of Trinity archival
materials are currently under construction:
Historical Images Archive
The Special Collections Department in the
Coates Library serves as the Trinity University Archives, and includes
approximately 15,000 photographs and 20,000 slides documenting the
University's history from the 1870s to the 1990s. The historic images in the
collection range in date throughout the University's first 100 years and are
divided into 4 subject categories (based on the University's geographic
location): the Tehuacana Images (1869-1902), the Waxahachie Images
(1902-1942), the Woodlawn: San Antonio Images (1910-1952), and the Skyline
Campus: San Antonio Images (mid 1950s-present).
These collections include glass plate images, tintypes, and
gelatin photos, as well as traditional and digital photography. The
digitization of this and other collections insures the continued preservation
and improved access to these resources.
Theatre Arts Images Archive
Trinity's outstanding Drama Program has
continued to preserve and collect images of theatrical productions from the
last 50 years of its history. This online collection will be comprised of
selected photographs from plays, musicals, and other performances, and will
eventually include publicity related items and theatrical season programs.
Digital images formerly available at the Speech and Drama Department webpage
will now be available in a searchable format as a part of library's digital
collections.
